Why JobTackl exists
Finding someone reliable to do a job locally is harder than it should be — and being a reliable person looking for work is harder than it should be too. JobTackl exists to fix both sides of that at once.
Our mission
To make finding and offering trusted local help simple, clear and fair — anywhere in the UK.
That means one place to look, prices set out before you commit, and a platform that treats the person doing the work as seriously as the person paying for it. A marketplace fails if either side is an afterthought.
The problems we set out to solve
Finding someone reliable takes too long
Recommendations are scattered across group chats, community pages and half-remembered conversations. There is no single place to look, so people ask around and hope.
Quotes are impossible to compare
One provider quotes hourly, another fixed, a third will not say until they visit. Nothing is like-for-like, so the choice comes down to who replied first.
Coverage is unclear
It is rarely obvious who actually travels to your area until you have already made contact and waited for a reply.
Good providers are hard to find work for
Skilled people rely on word of mouth or pay for leads that go nowhere. Being good at the job does not make you easy to find.

Customers pay a 10% booking fee on top of the service price, shown before a booking is confirmed.

- Set your own prices, service area and availability
- Build a reputation from real, completed jobs
We may introduce optional paid features later. Anything of that kind will be published in advance and never applied retrospectively.
Our vision
We want JobTackl to be the place people in the UK think of first when something needs doing — and the place skilled local people rely on for steady, fairly-priced work.
Getting there means depth, not just reach. A marketplace is only useful if there is someone good near you who can actually come. That is why we are concentrating our first community-building effort on Oxford, while the platform itself is open across the whole UK from launch day. Anyone can join and use it from the start; Oxford is simply where we are working hardest to build density early.
Longer term, the same standards apply wherever JobTackl operates. We would rather grow at a pace we can stand behind than expand faster than we can vouch for.
How we work
JobTackl is a marketplace, not a service company. The work is carried out by independent providers, and the contract for a job is between the customer and that provider. What we are responsible for is the platform, the standards we ask both sides to meet, and what happens when something goes wrong. That distinction is set out plainly on our Trust & Safety page.
We would rather say what is true than imply more than exists. JobTackl has not launched yet: this site is the public front of a product in build, our policies are marked as drafts pending legal review, and the waitlist form tells you honestly that it is not yet connected. That is the standard we intend to hold to after launch as well.
