Trust & safety

Built around trust from day one

A marketplace only works if both sides feel safe. These are the commitments shaping how we build JobTackl — and an honest account of what is and is not operational yet.

Our trust and safety commitments. The policies and reporting routes on this website are available now. Provider onboarding, booking-linked checks and marketplace enforcement begin only when those app features open; there are currently no live providers presented as checked by JobTackl.

Our commitments

  • Provider checks

We are building identity, contact, profile and relevant credential checks into provider onboarding.

  • Reviews from real jobs

Ratings will come from customers who booked through JobTackl, so feedback reflects work actually done.

  • Clear, upfront pricing

Providers set out what they charge before you book, so there are no surprises later.

  • Your data, protected

We aim to collect only what a booking needs and to keep your contact details private until you choose to share them.

  • One standard everywhere

The same published marketplace rules will apply wherever JobTackl operates in the UK.

  • Support when it matters

We are building reporting and priority safety-triage routes. JobTackl is not a 24/7 emergency service.

What JobTackl is responsible for

JobTackl is being designed as a marketplace in which providers operate independently and contract directly with customers for the work. The finished controls and agreements must preserve and receive legal confirmation of that intended model.

What we are responsible for:

  • Operating the platform and the standards we ask both sides to meet
  • The onboarding checks JobTackl states it has carried out once onboarding opens
  • Handling reports and acting on a provider’s or customer’s standing
  • Protecting the personal data we hold
  • Being straight about what the platform does and does not do

What we are not:

  • The party carrying out the work
  • An insurer, or a guarantor of any provider’s work
  • A substitute for the emergency services
  • A licensing body — where a trade legally requires registration or certification, that obligation sits with the provider

Provider checks at launch

A provider profile will not become public until the checks required for launch have been completed. We intend to require:

  • Verified email address and mobile number
  • Government-issued identity and selfie/liveness verification through a specialist provider
  • Payment-provider identity and onboarding checks required by the final confirmed Stripe flow
  • Manual review of profile, services and service area
  • Evidence of qualifications or insurance where relevant to an allowed category
  • Re-verification after material account changes or credible fraud concerns

Any badge will say exactly what was checked. We will not use vague claims such as “fully vetted”, and we will never claim a criminal record or DBS check unless that specific check was lawfully completed and its type and verification date are shown.

Bookings involving children

  • Every account holder and person making a booking must be 18+
  • Childcare and vulnerable-adult care are not permitted at initial launch
  • Where a service may involve a child or young person, the booking and all communication must be managed by a responsible adult, such as a parent or legal guardian; providers must not arrange services directly with minors
  • Unsupervised in-person work with a child is not permitted unless JobTackl has verified an appropriate current Enhanced DBS check and confirmed the role is legally eligible for that check
  • The check type and verification date are shown without implying that a DBS check guarantees safety
  • We recommend that a responsible adult is present for the first in-person session

The planned procedure will prioritise a safeguarding concern and allow proportionate restriction and escalation where appropriate.

Support and urgent concerns

JobTackl support is not a 24/7 emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 first. The public contact route is available now; final marketplace response targets require a named and tested support operation before booking opens.

Reports involving safety, fraud, threats, children or vulnerable people are triaged as a priority and acted on as soon as reasonably practicable. We may temporarily restrict an account or content while a serious concern is investigated. We provide updates where legally and safely possible without exposing another person's confidential information.
