Age assurance and adult accounts

Public service guides can be browsed without ID. When the marketplace opens, booking, messaging, reviewing and providing work are intended for verified adults aged 18 or over.

What will be gated

A visitor will be able to browse public information and create a limited account without an age check. Before their first booking, payment, message, review or provider activity, the planned app will require an approved adult-verification result. An unverified account will not be able to bypass that gate through another interactive feature.

What JobTackl intends to retain

JobTackl intends to receive the minimum result needed—such as adult confirmed, not confirmed, pending or manual review—plus a supplier reference and proportionate recheck information. JobTackl does not intend to receive or retain customer passport images, driving-licence images, selfies or biometric templates.

Temporary supplier processing

A selected specialist may need to process information briefly while deciding a check, preventing fraud or handling an appeal. Its methods, deletion periods, subprocessors, international transfers, security and accessibility route must be assessed and published before use. We will not promise “never stored anywhere” unless the supplier can evidence that exact technical behaviour.

If an automatic check does not work

The finished process must provide a clear pending state, avoid charging for an unapproved booking, limit repeated attempts and offer an accessible manual route for legitimate adults who lack a conventional document or are incorrectly rejected.

Current position

No customer age-assurance process or marketplace account is operational today. The supplier, final method, timing and retention rules remain subject to the completed privacy impact and Ofcom children’s-access assessments. Read our Privacy Policy and complaints and appeals process.
