Trust explained

Provider verification and insurance

A badge should state the exact evidence checked—not imply that a provider is guaranteed safe, skilled or suitable for every job.

Checks required before a provider can be booked

  • Identity, contact and anti-impersonation checks through the approved onboarding process
  • A declaration that the provider is eligible to supply the selected services in the UK
  • Individual, sole-trader, partnership, company or other organisation status
  • Identity of every person who may attend a customer’s booking
  • Service scope, prohibited-work declaration and payout/seller information
  • Expiry and rechecking for evidence that can become outdated

Checks that depend on the service

Licences, qualifications, permits, vehicle evidence, waste-carrier status and insurance are relevant only where the task or final marketplace rule requires them. Enhanced DBS checks may be considered only where the role is legally eligible; ordinary entry into a customer’s home does not automatically make a role eligible.

Insurance requirements

JobTackl’s V1 rule requires current evidence of at least £1 million public-liability cover for in-person work, covering the activity actually offered. This platform minimum does not mean public-liability insurance is universally compulsory by law. Employers’ liability, business motor, goods-in-transit, professional-indemnity and other cover depend on the provider’s real circumstances and service. A badge identifies only the activity, evidence, stated cover and check date; it never guarantees that an incident or claim is covered.

Data minimisation

Stripe’s planned hosted or embedded Connect onboarding would collect payment-account identity information. JobTackl intends to retain the verification result and necessary account reference rather than copies of passports, driving licences, selfies or unnecessary proof-of-address documents. Separate insurance or qualification evidence is collected only where the service rules require it.

What checks cannot prove

An identity, document or database check does not continuously supervise a provider, guarantee workmanship, predict behaviour or replace a customer’s assessment of the quote and task. Evidence can also expire or be limited by exclusions.

Current availability

Provider onboarding and public profiles are not open yet, so no person is currently presented as checked or insured by JobTackl. These rules apply when onboarding opens and may become stricter where law, an insurer or the precise task requires it. See Provider Standards, restricted services and the Safety Centre.
