Community Guidelines
JobTackl brings strangers into each other's homes and working lives. These guidelines apply to everyone on the platform, whichever side of a booking you are on.
Takes effect at launch. JobTackl is not yet operating, so these guidelines are not currently being enforced against anyone. They set out the standard from launch day.
Treat people fairly, be honest about what you are offering or asking for, keep it on the platform, and do not put anyone at risk. Everything below follows from those four things.
1. Who these apply to
Everyone with a JobTackl account: customers, providers, and anyone acting on their behalf. Where a provider operates as a business, the business is responsible for the conduct of anyone it sends to a job.
2. Treat people with respect
Not acceptable, in messages, reviews or in person:
- Harassment, intimidation, threats or stalking behaviour
- Discrimination or abuse based on disability, age, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, marriage or civil partnership, or any other legally protected characteristic
- Sexual harassment or unwanted advances of any kind
- Aggressive or humiliating conduct, including toward someone doing a job in your home
Providers are entitled to end a booking and leave if they are treated this way. Customers are entitled to ask someone to leave.
Communicate respectfully about accessibility needs. Providers should make reasonable adjustments where legally required and practicable. A provider may decline work they cannot safely or competently perform, but the decision must be based on genuine job requirements rather than prejudice. Customers may make legitimate safety or service choices about who enters their home, but discriminatory requests or listings are not allowed.
3. Be honest
- Describe jobs and services accurately. Do not overstate what you can do, or understate what a job involves.
- Use your real identity. One person or business, one account.
- Do not claim qualifications, certifications or insurance you do not hold.
- Reviews must reflect a booking you were genuinely connected to. Do not write, buy, trade, coerce or retaliate through reviews.
4. Keep bookings on the platform
A booking introduced through JobTackl, including repeat work with the same customer or provider, must be arranged and paid through JobTackl. Sharing contact details needed for a confirmed job is allowed; pressuring someone to pay by cash, bank transfer, gift card or another app is not.
An off-platform arrangement does not remove anyone's statutory legal rights, but JobTackl may be unable to investigate properly, control payment or provide platform dispute assistance. Accidental discussion receives guidance; deliberate or repeated attempts to avoid fees, reviews, safety controls or enforcement may result in restriction or removal.
5. Reviews from real bookings
- Only customers and providers connected to a completed or legitimately cancelled booking may review each other
- One review per party per booking
- Reviews must concern the genuine experience and must not expose addresses, private messages or unrelated allegations
- A review may be edited for 14 days; a material edit after a response will be visibly marked
- The reviewed party may post one public response
JobTackl may remove content that breaks policy, but not merely because it is negative. Suspicious review patterns may be investigated and associated accounts restricted.
6. Do not put anyone at risk
- Do not attend, or ask someone to attend, a job while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- Do not carry out work that legally requires certification you do not hold.
- Disclose hazards at a property honestly — pets, structural issues, or anything else affecting safe working.
- Follow the guidance in the Safety Centre, particularly where children or vulnerable adults are involved.
7. Respect privacy
- Use contact details and addresses only for the booking they relate to.
- Do not photograph or film inside someone’s home without their agreement. Where photographs are needed to quote or record work, ask first.
- Do not publish anyone else’s personal information, on JobTackl or elsewhere.
8. What happens if guidelines are broken
We take a proportionate approach. Depending on severity and history, we may:
- Give a warning and ask for the behaviour to stop
- Remove content such as a listing or a review
- Limit access to parts of the platform
- Suspend an account while we investigate
- Remove an account permanently
Serious matters — violence, sexual misconduct, fraud, or anything involving a child — may result in immediate restriction while investigated, permanent removal, and a report to the appropriate authority where required or necessary to protect someone.
If you believe we got a decision wrong, you may use the appeal process in the Acceptable Use Policy.
9. Reporting a problem
Use Report a Problem to raise anything covered here. Reports are treated confidentially so far as we are able, and we will not share your identity with the person you are reporting unless we are legally required to.
