Legal
Acceptable Use Policy
What you may not do on JobTackl, and what happens if you do it. This is a working draft prepared for legal review.
Working draft — pending final founder review before publication. This document is not yet final and should not be relied on as a published policy.
This policy sets the hard limits: content and conduct that are prohibited outright, services that may not be listed, and how we enforce. It forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to everyone with a JobTackl account.
1. Who this applies to
Everyone using JobTackl — customers, providers, and anyone acting on their behalf. It forms part of the Terms of Service, and sits alongside the Community Guidelines, which cover expected behaviour more broadly.
2. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Break the law, or use JobTackl to facilitate anything unlawful
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity, qualifications, certification or insurance
- Create multiple or fake accounts, or evade a suspension
- Harass, threaten, stalk or discriminate against anyone
- Solicit or take bookings off-platform to avoid fees or oversight
- Manipulate reviews — writing, buying, trading or coercing them
- Scrape the platform, or use bots or automated means to access it without our written permission
- Attempt to breach security, probe for vulnerabilities, or access accounts or data that are not yours
- Introduce malware, or interfere with the platform’s operation
- Use JobTackl to send spam or unsolicited marketing
- Use another user’s contact details or address for anything other than the booking they relate to
3. Prohibited content
Do not post, in a listing, message, review or profile, anything that:
- Is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity
- Sexually exploits or endangers a child, in any form
- Is sexually explicit, or offers services of a sexual nature
- Incites violence or hatred against any person or group
- Is defamatory, deliberately false, or intended to mislead
- Infringes copyright, trade marks or other intellectual property
- Reveals another person’s private information without their consent
- Contains malware, phishing links or fraudulent payment requests
4. Services that may not be listed
JobTackl covers everyday local services. The following may not be offered at initial launch, whether or not a provider says they hold a relevant licence and whether or not a category appears to allow them:
- Gas work, notifiable electrical work, and structural alterations
- Medical, dental, nursing or clinical care
- Legal, financial or regulated investment advice
- Childcare or care of vulnerable adults where registration is legally required and not held
- Anything involving firearms, weapons, explosives or controlled substances
- Adult or sexual services of any kind
- Removal or handling of asbestos, or other work requiring a specialist licence
- Transport of passengers for hire where a private hire or taxi licence is required
- Anything that would breach sanctions or export controls
We will review whether any of these services can be introduced only after reliable credential checks, appropriate insurance and legal review are in place. Being permitted to list any other service does not remove your own legal obligation to hold whatever certification, insurance or registration that work requires. See the Provider Standards.
5. Reporting a breach
Use Report a Problem. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services on 999 first.
6. Enforcement
We act proportionately, taking into account severity, intent and history. Measures include:
- A warning
- Removing content or a listing
- Limiting access to features
- Suspending an account during investigation
- Permanent removal
- Reporting to the police or a regulator, where appropriate
Serious breaches may result in immediate restriction or permanent removal without warning, including anything involving a child, sexual misconduct, violence or credible threats, fraud, or falsified verification documents.
We swiftly restrict access to illegal content once aware of it and preserve evidence only where necessary and lawful. If someone is in immediate danger, emergency services should be contacted on 999. Detected and previously unreported child sexual exploitation or abuse content will be reported through the National Crime Agency process where the Online Safety Act requires it. Credible fraud, violence, terrorism or safeguarding concerns may be reported to the appropriate police, regulator or authority where required by law or necessary to protect someone.
We may withhold payouts connected to a booking under investigation for fraud or a serious breach.
7. Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, email support@jobtackl.com within 14 calendar days of the decision. We aim to acknowledge an appeal within 2 business days and decide it within 10 business days.
Where practicable, someone who did not make the original decision will review the original material, your explanation and any new evidence. Safety restrictions may remain in place during the appeal. We provide the outcome and reasons in writing. One appeal is available per decision unless significant new evidence emerges.
To confirm before publication
These details are deliberately left out of the draft rather than guessed. They must be supplied and checked before this document goes live.
- Legal review of the prohibited services list against UK regulated activities
- Complete the Ofcom service-scope checker, illegal-content risk assessment and children’s access assessment before app launch
- Register for the NCA CSEA Industry Reporting Portal before app launch if JobTackl is in scope
- Verify that moderation, evidence preservation and complaints operations match the published process
